Chelsea Outpatient Centre is a modern, contemporary private diagnostic and treatment facility providing patients with quick, convenient private healthcare.

Our highly skilled private consultants ensure all our patients receive professional, personal, attentive private healthcare in well-equipped rooms. Chelsea Outpatient Centre offers 13 consulting rooms and three treatment rooms where minor procedures can be carried out. All of the specialities currently covered by Chelsea Outpatient Centre are also represented at The Lister Hospital.

Like The Lister Hospital and its sister hospitals, Chelsea Outpatient Centre is regulated by the Care Quality Commission.

Mr John Janssen

Medical Director

Dr Janssen qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School and subsequently trained as a neurologist at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and the  Royal Free Hospital obtaining broad exposure to all the major areas of neurology. 

Dr Janssen was appointed to the consultant staff at The Chelsea and Westminster, Royal Brompton and Charing Cross Hospitals in 2005. He provides acute general neurology services and a number of specialist clinics. He has set up a specialist emergency TIA service and been closely involved with the introduction and provision of stroke thrombolysis in West London in conjunction with the North West London Stroke and Cardiac Network. In addition to busy general neurology clinics at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital he has a specialist dementia clinic at Charing Cross Hospital and specialist neurology clinics at The Royal Brompton (including respiratory muscle weakness, sleep and sarcoidosis).

Dr Janssen has been a consultant neurologist at The Lister Hospital since 2006 and is a founding partner of Chelsea Outpatient Centre at 280 King’s Road. He has been offering private consultations and on site diagnostics in the heart of Chelsea since the Centre opened in April 2010. 






Chelsea Outpatient Centre is regulated by the Care Quality Commission in accordance with the Care Standards Act 2000 and inspected regularly against National Minimum Standards (Department of Health 2002). The Care Quality Commission is responsible for monitoring the performance of all NHS and independent healthcare organisations across England and Wales. Infection control

As infection control is a key priority in Chelsea Outpatient Centre, the incident of infection is extremely low. All healthcare staff is required to participate in the prevention and control of infection and are expected to observe simple rules of hygiene.

HCA has an Infection Control team of nurses and clinical microbiologists dedicated to the prevention and control of hospital infection. The team offer guidance in accordance with the Department of Health best practice recommendations. More information is available on request.
